With the opening of the Queen Elizabeth Highway in the 1930s, the neighbourhood saw major development taking shape. With further infrastructure and development taking place along the new highway extension, Mineola saw most of its available property lots being sold by the late 1950s.
Overall walkability in the area is somewhat lower at around 67/100. Bigger lots and more scattered properties have made the area a little less walkable, but generally speaking, you can get around without the need for a vehicle.
There are GO Stations located on Lakeshore, with access to the QEW and City Centre. The Mineola area has a transit score of 41/100.
